MY life story
I’ve been drawn to creativity for as long as I can remember.
As a kid, I loved painting, crafting, and making things with my hands. That passion led me to a school of
arts for high school, where I joined one of the first digital design classes in my hometown. There were
just seven of us, and it was one of the most peaceful and creative times of my life. I explored everything
from painting and sculpture to figure drawing, handwritten typography, and the early days of digital
design with Adobe software and Dreamweaver.
During that time, I also started selling my handmade crafts online. I made pillows, fabric toys, and
little lavender hearts with lace and traditional Slovak patterns. Everything was inspired by Slovak
countryside aesthetics and heritage. It was a small, personal project, but it taught me how fulfilling it
is to create something by hand and share it with others.
I also discovered a love for art history and philosophy during high school, which led me to enroll in
university to study philosophy. While I found the subject fascinating, I realized early on it wasn’t the
right path for me. I’m a practical person, and I knew I needed something that would help me grow and
create a life I really wanted.

Since I was young, I had a strong sense that I didn’t want to stay in Slovakia. I never quite felt
like I
fit in. I grew up in a more traditional environment, but deep down, I always knew I wanted something
different. It often felt like speaking my mind or having different opinions wasn’t always welcomed. I
wanted to live somewhere that felt more open, more aligned with how I saw the world.
So, in 2014, I joined the Au Pair in America program and moved to San Jose, California. I took care of
two
toddlers and lived with a local family for almost two years. It was the biggest leap I had taken, and
at
the time, I barely spoke English. But it was a life-changing experience. I became more independent,
met
incredible people, and traveled across 13 US states. It was wild, chaotic, meaningful, and full of
memories I still hold close.
While I was in the US, I randomly applied to study Multimedia Design in Denmark. I didn’t think much
of
it, but after returning to Slovakia, I got an acceptance letter. Three months later, I was living in
Copenhagen. That was back in 2017, and I’ve been here ever since. Now sharing life with my cat Missy,
and
we’re pretty much inseparable.
Denmark quickly felt like home. It gave me the freedom to grow, explore, and live more in line with
who I
am.
